Application Procedure
 
 The prospectus and admission form can be obtained from the office of the GLOBAL EYE Institute on payment of Rs. 150/- only in cash. The request for Prospectus and Admission Form by post should be accompanied by a demand draft of Rs. 180/- in favour of 'GLOBAL EYE INSTITUTE OF OPTOMETRY AND ORTHOPTICS, Allahabad payable at Allahabad by any nationalized bank at under noted address :
 Director, Global Eye Institute of Optometry and Orthoptics C/o Global Hospital & Eye Research Centre, 322/24 Bai-Ka Bagh (Near Payal Cinema) Allahabad.
 Scholarship is given to all students whether SC/ST, OBC OR GENERAL
 (Income below Rs. 1Lac)
 Enclosures to be attached with Admission form :
 A duly filled in form by the candidate, the following documents should be attached therewith :
 1. A demand draft of Rs. 180/- payable at Allahabad in favour of the Institute.
 2. Attested Photocopy of High School Marksheet & Certificate for proof of
 date of birth.
 3. Attested Photo copy of Intermediate science Marksheet.
 4. Copy of Character Certificate from the college last attended.
 5. Two Passport size colour photograph. One affixed on application form.
 6. Two ("10 '4.5') size envelops duly stamped with Rs. 5 Stamps.
 7. Self address post card for acknowledgment etc.
 8. Any other document/information, if required by the Institute at the time of
 admission.

Mode of Application to the course

Admission to the course will be through a written entrance examination followed by the interview at the Venue of the Institute on said date. The selection to the course will be on the basis of the merit list.
The candidates whose application forms are found in order will be called for the entrance test/ Interview on the fixed date and time as written on the admit card. After the declaration of Merit List admission of successful candidates will be taken on fixed date.
If any candidate fails to take admission on the appointed date. then his/her admission will stand cancelled and a candidate from the waiting list will be given a chance for admission.
Right of admission is reserved. The decision of the selection committee Will be final in all respect. The session will start as directed by the U.P. State Medical Faculty. Those selected will have to produce a medical fitness certificate from a Registered Medical Practioner.
Examination Fee :
Candidate willing to appear in the final examination each year will have to pay the examination fee as fixed by the U.P. State Medical Faculty Lucknow each year.
Rule for sending candidate, for faculty Examination :
1. No student will be allowed to appear in the faculty examination (Ist or IInd year) unless he/she has put in 85% of attendance both in theory and practical classes.
2. The Student short of attendance may be allowed to make up the attendance by the Administration of the Institute through extra classes for which extra fees will be charged to meet the expenses of classes.
3. There will be a supplementary examination for failed students on the dates announced by the faculty on payment of fee decided by them
Examination & Results
The result of examination likely to be held in May June (Regular Examination and in November/ December (supplementary examination) of each year will be announced by U.P. Medical faculty.
Candidate who fails to appear in any of the examination will not be promoted to the second year of the course.
The appointment of the Examiner will be made by the Faculty. The paper to be set for Oral and Practical Internal Examination by Principal of the Institute.
Award of Diploma
Diploma will be awarded by the U.P. State Medical Faculty to successful students. The student declared successful in both the year will be entitled to use the title D. R. OPT with their names.

Rules to be followed by the candidate
1. Students of both year will be required to attend the Institute as well as Hospital through out
the year. They may be posted to attend special duties in the wards of the hospital and in the O.P.D. for practical training by rotation.
2. Discipline and Punctuality is first and foremost requirement from a student. Every student is
required to be punctual in training course at the stipulated time for lectures.
3. Attendance will be taken and its record will be maintained of every lecture on theory,
demonstration and practical etc.
4. Application for any leave or medical leave must be submitted to the Principal well in
advance. He/She should leave station only after obtaining specific permission.
5. Student will not be allowed to leave the classroom without the permission of the teacher till
the class in dispersed.
6. Student will neither roam around in the premises of the Institute without any work nor will
bring friend in the Hostel without the permission of the management.
7. No association/Society can be formed in the Institute by students. They must not take any
part in any public agitation or demonstration.
8. No student shall communicate any information or write about matters connected with
Institute administration to the press without the permission of the Director.
9. No game of any short will be played during the hours for lecture/practicals Ward posting and
during working hours.
10. Infringement of rules and regulations, breach of discipline, willful damage of Institutes
properties, misconduct or disobeying the legitimate orders of the professors, Principal, director by any student may make him/her liable to strict disciplinary action by the Management which may be a fine, suspension of student till further order. It may be expulsion from the Institute too.
Dress : Student will wear only the prescribed dress in the Institute/Hospital premises which
is as follows :
Boys Summer White Shirt and White Pant
    Winter Grey Pant, White Shirt & blue blazer.
Girls Summer White Salwar & Kameez with white dupatta
Winter Same with blue Blazer Coat , Apron of a Colour
approved by the management will be worn all the time.
Director reserve the right to change any rule. For any dispute, decision given by the director/management will be final and binding upon the student.
Library
The Institute has a good library containing a number of books and journals on ophthalmology. It is situated in the premises of the Global Hospital. Members of the Library will only enjoy its benefits.
